environmental efforts presentation at suffolk downs

Ferriter Scobbo attorney Michael Vhay spoke at the US Environmental Protection Agency’s July 2013 Community Involvement Conference.  His topic was how to create and implement successful “supplemental environmental projects.”  Since 2008, Mike has worked with Sterling Suffolk Racecourse LLP, the owner of the Suffolk Downs racetrack in Boston.  Mike successfully navigated Suffolk through complex negotiations that resolved significant alleged violations of the federal Clean Water Act.  The settlement resulted in an August 2012 consent decree that requires Suffolk to fund three supplemental environmental projects totaling over $740,000.   Ferriter Scobbo attorneys continue to monitor and implement the projects, some of which will continue for the next three years.
