When a client asked if we’d register their company name and catch phrase as federal trademarks across multiple industries, we did. Shortly after the marks were officially registered, we discovered another company profiting from the mark in another state.
In June 2015, Ferriter Scobbo attorneys Michael D. Vhay and Matthew C. Campbell assisted a prominent developer and commercial property owner in forming a subsidiary responsible for the ownership, operation, and maintenance of a 724-kW solar array on one of the owner’s office developments.
In June 2015, Ferriter Scobbo attorneys Michael Vhay and Valerie Moore filed a complaint with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development against the City of Newton, MA on behalf of two developers of affordable housing. The complaint recounts the City’s violations of the federal Civil Rights Act and the federal Fair Housing Act, including the City’s false certifications that it is affirmatively furthering fair housing.
Last month, attorney Valerie Moore was featured on the Environmental Business Council's 25th Anniversary video. As a member of their Young Professional Group, Valerie spoke on the future of the environmental business in New England. The video was presented at EBC's annual awards event.

Ealier this week, Ferriter Scobbo's guests for the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce was introduced to Senate President Stan Rosenberg.
In conjunction with our client’s pooled loan program, Ferriter Scobbo prepared the necessary documents to complete the advance of the first loan to a member. In addition to preparing the Loan Agreement and Note, Ferriter Scobbo drafted the documents needed to unwind existing contractual arrangements between the member and another enitiy. Ferriter Scobbo prepared numerous documents to terminate existing multi-party arrangements – including leases and sub-leases - in order to ensure that the pooled loan program transaction could be completed free of encumbrances and on a tax exempt basis.
