I focus my practice at Ferriter Scobbo on small businesses and municipal entities.

In the Boardroom

I counsel clients on corporate governance, including corporate agreements, employment contracts and vendor contracts. Through educating and assisting clients in identifying and addressing potential risk areas, I strive to help businesses and municipal entities review and revise their policies and agreements. When disputes do arise, I counsel companies through the resolution, and if necessary, into the courtroom in instances of litigation.

Within a client’s Boardroom, I focus on corporate transactional matters and policy review. I've assisted clients with corporate formation, business acquisitions and financing.  In the area of insurance, I have been involved in filings with the Division of Insurance, agency purchase and sales agreements, producer agreements, and non-competition agreements. In the energy industry, I’ve reviewed power purchase agreements, assisted in the formation of municipal cooperatives, renewable energy developments and dealt with zoning issues. My experience in the energy field extends to renewable energy credit agreements, equipment installation contracts, as well as equipment purchase contracts and warranties.

In the Courtroom

My experience at Ferriter Scobbo has been in complex litigation and commercial disputes including pre-trial, motion practice, trial, appeals and post-judgment matters. I was part of the Ferriter Scobbo team that successfully defended a multi-year dispute regarding the alleged breach of a multimillion dollar power purchase agreement. I’ve defended claims alleging breach of contract, tortious interference with contract or business relations, infliction of emotional distress, and employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation.

I also represent a self-insurance trust fund in matters of coverage review, administering claims and defending claims of alleged property damage, personal injury, and environmental matters, including settlement of CERCLA claims.

Prior to joining Ferriter Scobbo in 2006, I was engaged in private practice with a Chicago law firm, working primarily in the areas of corporate transactions, civil litigation and eminent domain.

I have represented clients in the state courts of Massachusetts and Illinois, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. I have also represented clients in alternative dispute resolution proceedings and before the Department of Public Utilities and the Department of Unemployment Assistance.

Outside of the law, I enjoy tennis, travel and going to local concerts.
