Ferriter Scobbo & Rodophele, PC Involved in Solar Energy Program

   The Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (“MMWEC”) has launched a turnkey solar energy program for Massachusetts municipal utilities.  The program offers one-stop shopping for the purchase of solar energy panels, electric current inverters, and project installation services through a single contract with MMWEC.  Ferriter Scobbo & Rodophele, PC is pleased to have assisted MMWEC in this endeavor by drafting the contracts necessary for MMWEC to offer this program.

   Nick Scobbo and Rob Granger, of Ferriter Scobbo & Rodophele, PC, drafted the contracts between MMWEC and Evergreen Solar, Inc., a manufacturer of solar panels with its proprietary, low-cost String Ribbon™ water technology; Solectra Renewables LLC, a Massachusetts based company who will provide the inverters needed to convert direct-current solar energy to alternating-current electricity for use on local distribution systems; and with Massachusetts-based contractors to install projects in municipal utility communities.

   Also, Scobbo and Granger prepared the contracts used by MMWEC and the municipal utilities to purchase the solar systems.  Several municipal utilities are planning to install demonstration solar systems on high-profile, municipal buildings to promote additional solar development within their community.
