Ms. Bernazani-Ludlum represents both corporate and individual clients to achieve remediation and redevelopment of properties affected by oil and hazardous materials contamination. She counsels clients about investigation and enforcement actions by state and federal environmental agencies. In addition, she reviews insurance policy coverage for releases of oil and hazardous materials and has worked with clients to secure new pollution legal liability and environmental cost cap policies.
Ms. Bernazani-Ludlum's practice includes the performance of due diligence investigations for secured lenders, buyers and sellers to address environmental and contamination issues. Additionally, she advises regulated entities regarding their activities under environmental laws including emerging climate change regimes. Ms. Bernazani-Ludlum also works with municipalities drafting regulations and bylaws related to environmental matters and securing permits for activities regulated under Massachusetts' environmental laws.
Ms. Bernazani-Ludlum received her law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law where she served on the editorial board of the Connecticut Journal of International Law. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross.
She has contributed to and authored articles on topics such as environmental trade measures and amendments to the Montreal Protocol to address global warming. She is a member of a number of professional associations including the Boston Bar Association's Environmental Section, the Women's Bar Association of Massachusetts and is a board member of New England Women in Energy and the Environment. In 2009 she was named a New England Rising Star by Law & Politics and Boston Magazine.
She is licensed to practice in Massachusetts, Connecticut and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
